Journey of Dad's Phone NOKIA 1110

When our family moved to mumbai in the year 2006 dad decided to buy phones for all. The mastermind behind that plan was me..what I did was , just ignited the tension of mom..will me and sister be lost in the busy streets of mumbai..if there is any help needed then how will we contact each other.etc. There is a rumour that creating virus and antivirus is done by the same company itself. I followed the same market management idea. After all the chaos, I put the suggestion of buying cell phones which was a deal for all.

NOKIA 110 ..2 blue and 1 black edition were bought. I had my black one..dad and sis took the rest. It was my first cell and at that time I was a proud owner of a mobile phone. That pride long lasted only till the first day i stepped into my (11th) first year junior college. All have got motorola flip phones, samsung slide, high tech touch screen types etc.

Seeing all these I made my first call to mom by keeping the phone under the bench. Realized that my dad played very well, he bought the cheapest phone..hats off dad's budget management. He screwed up me with the same idea i proposed, as usual !!.

After 11th and 12th before coming back to kerala, I bought my next phone after a lots of chaos from Chrome shoppin mall.. Samsung E 250 .

Now am a scared proud owner of this phone..was waiting for my first college day. Thank god..now i'am not that much embarrassed to take ma phone and slide up for a call. But the new twist shocked me...very soon I realized the college which i have joined Mohandas College Of Engineering And Technology doesn't allow mobile phones in their campus. Then what the use of this new damn phone??? ... it's better to have the old one itself.. recipients wont know through which phone am texting or calling. I have got broadband connection also..so no need of smart phones.besides a show off!! .

My dad still carrys that old blue black and white phone. I usually ask him " Dont you feel embarrassed when you take this phone out among all other staff's smart phones?" ..
His reply was like this " For me, phone is to call and message..this phone does it very well and still have no complaints. So am happy with this..why to buy like my staffs..who buys smart phones and dunno how to utilize the other apps". Let it be like that, why should i care if he don't care.

After the few months as every boy I also used my phone like my notebook..no care at all..sliding up with the oily hands ..taking calls..throwing to the stand. I wanted to do these in front of dad, just to show how tough my phone is. One day  when his phone had a dip in water accidently and recovered with no flaws, I understood the fact that cheaper but of good quality..that's what his cell is about.

After 1 year, i got the first complaint of sliding problem with my phone. Now, the complaints are getting queued, one after the another. Dad still having that old dabba phone with no complaints. I was praying "atleast let it's battery get expired" ..no way...now it's around 7 years.Still Bold and Beautiful it is.
I'am now the owner of Samsung wave 525
...yes!!..my journey of changing phones...still continues. :) ..and the journey of Dad with his Nokia 110 is ahead of mine. :-@
