World Of Android

Mobile Pick for around 20,000RS :

 GALAXY GRAND DUOS / LENOVO S820 / XPERIA SP / XPERIA C

So, it’s a long time I have been writing a blog. Recently, I owned an Android Mobile Sony Xperia Sp. Thought of writing about the cell specifications and my suggestions on phones around 20k, as I referred pretty good number of sites for selecting a good one.

My first knowledge about the cell around 20k was Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos. It is a handsome selection on this range but I didn’t want to own it as it is very common and does not have any peculiar features which makes it outstanding.

I loved being the owner of Sony Vaio Laptop even though it is somewhat overpriced. I believe the extra bucks goes to the quality of the product and elegant design (Specially the Vaio logo..I love it). So, I went a glance through Sony Mobiles and I was not disappointed by their design and technical specifications when coming to mobile industry. Unlike Laptops, Sony Mobiles was not overpriced that much.
I stuck on two products: Sony Xperia SP and Sony Xperia C.
Both has got it’s Pros and Cons and is worth for it’s money also.
SP has got a 4.6inch screen with sharp display. C has got large 5inch display with good display(not sharp as SP).
XPERIA C
What I liked the most is that, SP has got a LED bar at the bottom which has got several light notification illuminations for missed call, messages, call, music player beat light effects etc. We can even turn it off if we think that it drains battery. But trust me, One and half Day is the normal battery strength for this mobile if we use Wifi, Call, Message,Music Player and Game around 1-2 hour each.(Normal Usage). C also has got LED notification but it is of very tiny kind.
XPERIA SP
Sony Xperia C is also good for 20k,While SP is for 23k. SP has got NFC while C doesn’t have. C has got removable battery while SP doesn’t have. C has got Quad Core processor with 1.2Ghz and Sp has got Dual Core Processor with 1.7 GHZ. But Quad Core Mediatek(Cheaper chip) delivers around the same performance as Dual Core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor. So, in turn that doesn’t make a big deal unless you are a hardcore gamer dealing with heavy load delivering games.
C and Sp has got 8mp Camera. One Strong advantage of C is that it is of dual sim compatible type.

Coming to Micromax brand, it delivered Canvas doodle 2 and all with spectacular specifications and a great Camera Quality also. Only thing, I doubted in their brand was the lifetime. As it has emerged in market with full strength recently, I dint play with my 20k for a risk deal. But, being fair.. my friend is owning Micromax A110 for past 6 months and till now, he is very happy with it’s performance. I also respect the brand for it’s aim of delivering nice products with reasonable price. When they had Hugh Jackman as their brand ambassador recently, I liked the brand even more ;)
Lenovo S820 was a very good pick for 20k : Dual Sim, 12Mp camera,2mp Front Camera, 1.2ghz Quad Core. As I reside in India, I’am very well aware of their bad service and after warranty repair quality. So I rejected that option also.

Atlast, I picked XPERIA SP as I don’t want any extra sim luxury and concentrated on the sharper display and was mesmerized with the LED bar notifications.

MICROMAX Back With a BANG!! - Canvas A110 & A116 HD

"Don't go for Micromax ! Itz better to go for Samsung or Apple..ok, you can have Nokia too." This was my statement when my friend put forward his desire to buy Micromax Canvas 2  A110. The basic reason behind this kinda negative approach was because of my view on Micromax Mobile as a poor established mobile company as few years back, they had a flop attempt to have an impact through advertisements and all. But Nothing Remains The Same !! .... Soon I realized when he bought Micromax Canvas 2 A110. Was astonished of what they offering in 10,000RS stuff - Smartphone with Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor, PowerVR SGX531 GPU , 8 MP camera, front camera,512 RAM, 4 GB internal memory(2 GB usable), Expandable upto 32GB, IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors 480 x 854 pixels, 5.0 inches (~196 ppi pixel density).

So I realized, as a common non-tech savvy guy,,how much I was unaware of the promising growth of Micromax company. I was underneath the cataract of 4 years back failure story of a company which is  a trendy stuff in the current market scenario.

Started on 1991, but for so many years it was just a start up company only. Recent years, it emerged as a roaring lion in Indian market and then to Asian market. Apart from mobile technologies, Led televisions also comes under the focus area. 3rd largest manufacturer in India, 12th largest handset manufacturer in the world. In the tablet world, as per of 2012 criteria they crossed the line drawn by samsung and apple in Indian tablet market. This is the short Bio-data of our buddy.

A whooping valentines day offer was put forward by Micromax by introducing Canavas HD for Rs13,900. Whooping offer got a whooping sale too - 25 Units per minute, crossed 9000 units sale barrier within 24hours, They also got an introduction of Bolt A35 with a flasht transfer technique. This technique demands sharing of apps, games, music etc with just a swipe!!!

Micromax adcampaigns emphasize on the rivalry against the high stakes of mobile industry Samsung and Apple by taking the slogan "I can afford this Phone " and several other ads.Hopefully they wont get any legal action from these guys who are very well in law suiting !!

Anyways for the middle class people, who aims at luxury from reasonable cost..Micromax is a great boon for them and that's what the success recipe of this rapid growing Hulk is made of !! .ALL THE BEST :-)

big.LITTLE Processing

How long your mobile battery lasts??....10 Hrs..?...1 and half day??...2 days??....if itz more than 3 days then sure  that is gonna be a black and white mobile(basic model). So, it's basically how your mobile model extracts battery power efficiently and how long you keep your mobile active.

Mobile Computing is always been a thread connecting balancing performance and power consumption. There are several ways of processing which is considered to be good in different aspects and yield better efficiency. Of that, a challenging one but a reliable efficient processing technique is the BIG.LITTLE processing. It's powered by ARM processors for mobile devices like mobiles and laptops.
So by this technique it's a fact that you can charge your mobile battery for once and can use on a longer run than now.

Here what's the basic concept is a BIG CORTEX-A15 processor is paired with a LITTLE -CORTEX A7 processor. Why we are pairing these two processors?..Whats the benefit from this pairing?

Yeah, the answer is there is 70% power efficiency achieved by this technique. Cortex-A15 processor is distinguished as the High Performance achieving ARM processor while the Cortex-A7 processor is the most energy efficient ARM processor built till today. So think, wont be it's a very nice idea if tasks requiring large and complicated processings are done by the BIG one and the cheaper processing required tasks are handled by the LITLLE one. So the concept is that whenever a basic task is given CORTEX A7 processor handles it and when it reaches the peak of it's operating point a task migration is done to CORTEX A15 processor.

An important consideration of a big.LITTLE system is the time it takes to migrate a task between the  If it takes too long then it may become noticeable to the operating system and the system power may outweigh the benefit of task migration for some time.  Therefore, the Cortex-A15-Cortex-A7 system is designed to migrate in less than 20,000-cycles, or 20-microSeconds with processors operating at 1GHz.

So the hardware required for this pairing and a sophisticated sofware for assigning tasks and migrating the same for this pair are the two major challenges which has to be solved efficiently for a Power Efficient Mobile Computing.
